Men, whether they’re college-aged or full-grown, do not wear athletic shorts
or cargo shorts. In fact, Italians rarely wear shorts at all. Men’s pants are
much more form-fitting than might be socially acceptable in America. Suits that
businessmen wear are extremely well-tailored, and the suit owners are often
much more exploratory with colors and patterns than corporate America with Bold
color choices and big, loud prints seem to be a common theme throughout Italian
fashion. In the region of Italy I was in around Parma, the two most popular
stores seemed to be Zara, a Spanish chain that is also in the US and Coin, an

One afternoon, I went into Zara fashion to do a little shopping, thinking
I’d find a similar clothing selection to the store at 329 New bury St. I was
wrong. Here, just like in Coin and many other Italian stores I visited, the
clothes were brighter, the cuts were less conventional and the patterns
bordered on ugly. I felt just a little out of your depth in everything I tried
on, and didn’t end up buying anything. That’s something that Italians have over
Americans when it comes to fashion – confidence. I saw many young women wearing
winter boots with miniskirts and men wearing light blue skinny jeans thenItalian
fashion isn’t just about day-to-day looks, either. Even on the beach, Italians
exude self-belief about their swimwear and their bodies. Of the approximately
100 other women in my section of sand, I was exactly the only woman not wearing
a revealing bikini. Even the grandmothers strutted their matter in string
bikinis, which was definitely a sight I had to get used to. All men, from
teenage boys to the elderly, wore Speedos or bathing suits that looked like
boxer-briefs. Though Italy isn’t in the middle of an obesity epidemic like the
US is, I was able to learn a lesson in self-confidence from my day at the
beach.Itali fashion is most famous and glourious trends for women andI’ve had
the opportunity of visiting Italy three times, most recently this past June.
Each time I’ve gone, I’ve visited distinctly different areas of the country.
Besides the unbelievable quality of the food, the one consistency of my visits
has been the fashion. This differ from other comptitor market like as:Fashion in
Italy is definitely different than in the US. In some regards, Italians are
more modish than Americans; perhaps amazingly, not everyone in the country
wears the latest designer trends. We look also about that trend,he Perth worldwide

Although I saw many women dressed conservatively in the full niqab or
liberally dressed in tank tops and jeans, many women didn’t fall onto either
side of the spectrum, but rather remained somewhere in the middle. This middle
ground consisted of a scarf called a hijab used to cover the woman’s hair,
while the rest of the outfit resembled a typical “western” outfit.Makeup is
also an important accessory to the everyday outfit. Since women’s faces are
their most visible feature, many spend a good amount of time decorating them
with lipstick, blush and mascara.
While many women wear more westernized attire along with the hijab, their
clothes will typically cover their skin. This means Jordanian women wear long
dresses, skirts and sleeves in public, no matter how hot it is outside. They
walk through the sweltering heat with ease as their heels – yes, heels the most
popular accessory – click against the sidewalk pavement. Many Jordanian women,
even those who wear the full niqab, have closets full of colorful designer
heels because they are another of the few ways the women can express themselves
candidly.
Through the overwhelming heat, I pushed through and tried to blend in by
doing the same. I wore long dresses, long-sleeved shirts and cardigans to
respect the culture and not draw attention to myself. It may have been a lot to
put up with in the high temperatures of the Middle East, but to me, it was the
best way to be courteous in a culture with different principles than the ones
of my own.Muslim women in Jordan usually begin to wear the hijab when they
reach puberty. The Quran states that women should only show their hands and
their faces and leave their beauty only for their loved ones to see. This may
seem like a pretty serious undertaking, but what’s interesting is wearing the
hijab is a choice – some women choose to wear their hijab in life as they
mature and become more in touch with their religion. Women wear their hijabs
with their heads held high–there is no shame involved in wearing the scarf
because it is a part of them. It shows their respect for themselves and their
religion and Without question, Paris is the epicenter of the fashion world and
one name stands head and shoulders above the rest: Chanel. The inimitable Coco
Chanel built the formidable brand that continues to produce some of the most
exciting designs on the runway. Currently led by Karl Lagerfeld, the House of
Chanel will no doubt be at the forefront of cutting edge fashion for decades to
come.Louis Vuitton is best known for its luxe leather goods, but the line also
produces clothing, shoes, fine jewelry and accessories.
Yves Saint Laurent died in 2008, but Italian stylish Stefano Pilati is ably
guiding the fashion behemoth to new heights from YSL’s atelier on Avenue George
V in Paris.
Issey Miyake may have been born in the 20th century, but his clothing is
clearly for the 21st century and beyond. Miyake uses computer technology to
create clothing from a single piece of thread. His PLEATS PLEASE line is the
first clothing design exhibited at the Pompidou Center in Paris. Wow. That’s
way beyond fashion-forward.Commes des Garçons founder, Rei Kawakubo started out
making costumes in Tokyo, and from that humble foundation she has built a $180
million business empire. Kawakubo opened more than 100 Commes des Garçons
(French for “like boys”) stores in Japan in the ‘70s and debuted her first
collection in Paris in 1981. When the designer marketed a $350 dress at H&M
in 2008, the fashion industry was in an uproar, but fashionistas with big bucks
snapped it up. (Really, if you can spend $350 for one dress, do you even shop
at H&M?)
From the haute couture ateliers of Paris to the cutting rooms of New York,
Tokyo, London and Milan, designers for top fashion houses are dressing the
world with the panache normally reserved for royalty. Clothing shouldn’t just
be a feast for the eyes, it should feel decadent against the skin, and it
should transport those fortunate enough to wear it to that place known as the
Best Dressed List. Following are some of the fashion lines we love to covet. Manila,
One thing I did notice was that men in Boston dress a little more formally –
I would see some of them wear polo shirts or vintage tees with a comfortable
cardigan thrown over it, and a good leather belt.Women in Boston sport almost
the same styles as the women back in Manila, dressing in mostly thin,
lightly-colored shirts with shorts or jeans and flats or sandals. But then
again, that was summer. As I walked down Newbury Street, I couldn’t help but
notice the fall outfits in boutiques that the mannequins were modeling. I’m
looking forward to seeing how people shift their wardrobe; from their light
colored shirts and shorts in the summer, to skirts paired with high knee socks
in the fall, and thick winter scarves, long jackets with faux fur and buttoned
down coats in the winter. With that being said, I guess the time is coming to
change the clothes currently hanging in my closet soon.Philippines and Boston.
Two very different cities, quite far from each other, yet they are similar in
the way people dress – especially during the summer months.I grew up in Manila
until my high school years, when I attended an international school. In
tropical countries like the Philippines, with only two seasons, men and women
usually dress very casually.Typically, men sport loose T-shirts with their
favorite basketball team’s logo in front, loose denim jeans, their favorite
sneakers and a cap.Women, on the other hand, give a lot more thought to how
they dress. Women in the Philippines are into short (three inches below the
knee) summer dresses that come in both solid colors and floral patterns. Think
H&M or Forever 21 mini summer dresses.
